What is National Day of Love®?
National Day of Love® started in 2017. It is a celebration of love through giving back to our communities on the third Saturday in March. We celebrate by doing purposeful acts of love in our communities.
What is a purposeful act of love?
A purposeful act of love is a planned event or action used to positively affect a community through love. For example, you can give supplies to your local school, pay for a neighbor’s groceries, take someone a meal, etc.
When is National Day of Love® celebrated?
National Day of Love® is held on the third Saturday in March each year.
Who operates National Day of Love®?
National Day of Love® is operated by The Banks Foundation, Inc, (TBFI) a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational organization. TBFI empowers people to reach their full potential through love and education. National Day of Love® is a day to celebrate love by giving back to your community. Each year, we may have a different focus on what we encourage people to do; however, you can celebrate individually as you desire!
How can I participate in National Day of Love®?
It is very easy to participate in National Day of Love®. Each year, we post ideas for ways you can celebrate. For example, you can donate books to your local school or give groceries to a family nearby.
Please note that you cannot create an event in honor of National Day of Love® without prior written consent and approval from our organization.
There are many different ways to participate without creating an event. For example, if you are paying for someone’s groceries, you have most likely not made an event. Find more ideas to celebrate love in your community here.
All events in honor of National Day of Love® must be approved in writing by National Day of Love® and hosted by our community partners.
As of October 1, 2024, we no longer accept applications to host an event. We must be able to get to know you and your organization through in-person or virtual meetings to develop relationships. Our goal is to align with community partnerships and invest in our communities through our partners.
